2025 Poster Competition Results and Winners

TOMA and the TOMA Foundation were thrilled with the turnout to the 2025 Student/Resident Poster Competition at the 69th MidWinter Conference in Southlake. We had over 50 submissions from osteopathic medical students and residents, who also happen to be members of TOMA, participate. 

Our participants followed our guidelines to enter and presented for 3 minutes during a dedication session for the poster competition. A panel of judges voted and decided on the results:


 Award Categories and Certificates

All presenters received a certificate of participation, and winners are recognized below. We will also be publishing it in the Summer edition of Texas DO Magazine, along with a cash prize. 
  • Original Research: monetary awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
    • 1st place ($500): Thrombin Generation vs. Conventional Clotting Time For Coagulation Screening... by Eric Bigon
    • 2nd place ($250): Hepatic Architecture Post-Cardiac Arrest by Zeehan Dewan
    • 3rd place ($150): Natural History of Troponin by Jenil Rana
  • Case Report: monetary awards will be given to
    • Top Resident ($100): Asymptomatic AVRT in a Patient with Wolf-Parkinson White Syndrome by Deitrich Gerlt
    • Top Medical Student ($100): Don’t Always Believe What You See: Charles Bonnet Syndrome by Kevin Lal
